18 April (Wednesday) at 7:30pm at the RCS.
This is my BIG THING this year and I've worked on it since the summer
time with all those great people (listed below, together with that
lovely title 'dedicated advocates' :P). The music is breathtakingly
beautiful and definitely worth much more
attention than it gets.
Please come, listen, watch, enjoy and fall in love the way we did.
And a short note from the RCS website:
Young Artists in Residence Recital - Tailleferre Anniversary Concert
Les Six was the name adopted by six avant garde French composers in the
1920s. Alongside composers that have remained in the repertoire, such
as Milhaud, Poulenc and Honegger, perhaps the most radical aspect of the
group was that one of them was a woman. The works of Germaine
Tailleferre have been sadly neglected, and to mark what would have been
her 120th birthday, Young Artist in Residence Maciej Granat leads a
group of dedicated advocates in this programme to the rediscovery of
this remarkable composer.
Maciej Granat - Emergent Artist / Piano
with
Blanka Borkowska - Flute
Ewelina Brzozowska - Harp
Laura Margaret Smith - Mezzo-soprano
Julia Wagner - Cello
and
Jonathan Plowright - Piano
Programme:
Tailleferre - Concertino for Harp and orchestra (piano reduction)
Tailleferre - Piano Concerto (two piano version)
Interval
Tailleferre - Piano Trio (with flute instead of violin)
Tailleferre - Pancarte pour une porte d'entrée (Eleven songs) to the poems by Robert Pinget
